Our scrapbook notes about Uji

Uji is a smallish city located between Nara and Kyoto, but also very accessible to get to from Osaka. The city is famous for two main things, firstly green tea and the Byodoin Temple. This city has everything green tea (macha), for example, macha noodles, macha icecream, macha cake and so on. Worth visiting for the macha noodles along. Also, the city homes the Byodoin Temple which is on the back on a tenyen coin. An impressive temple, but currently under renovation (2013), however, you still can enter the temple and it's gardens and enjoy its beauty. Uji is worth half a day-full day of your time, and has some beautiful scenery and rivers to enjoy.
