Our scrapbook notes about Panama

Panama is still to have the tourist wave hit, unlike it's neighbours of Costa Rica and Guatemala. Northern America and Southern America are both favourites for those with the the backpack bug, especially the regions of Costa Rica and Peru, therefore you would expect the country connecting them to be hot for the tourists as well. Panama is still a fairly untouched country in the backpacker world and it's features are very much still hidden. The main urban hotspot at the moment is obviously Panama City which is gradually rising as a metropolis. However, the main attraction of Panama still lies with the Panama canal which starts at the Pacific Ocean and ends in the Atlantic Ocean, making ocean trips from the West coast of America, to the Caribbean,  much easier. Apart from the canal, Panama has volcanoes, trekking trips, beaches and colonial towns to offer.
