Our scrapbook notes about Helsinki

Helsinki is the capital of Finland, the bridge between the Scandinavian west and Eurozone south. With a population of just 600,000 I didn't expect too much from this final stop on my Nordic trip, however what I found was a pleasant and modern European capital set by the icy lakes of the Baltic sea.

Although Helsinki is good stop and a recommended location, touristy sights can easily be seen within a day. If you're keen, spend a few days here and then get a ferry on to Talin or Stockholm.
